Maxillofacial Surgeon’s Day – 13th Feb’2016(Workshop on Medical Applications of 3D printing Technology)
Dept. of Maxillofacial Surgery
of Pananeya Institute of Dental Sciences and Research College has
organized a one day workshop on “Medical
Applications of 3D printing Technology”
on 13th
Feb’2016. This workshop was organized in collaboration with School
of Engineering of Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus on the
occasion of Maxillofacial
Surgeon’s day.
22 Students of
School of Engineering of Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus
pursuing 3D printing projects and 13 Students of of Pananeya
Institute of Dental Sciences and Research College were participated
in this workshop.
Dr G V Reddy, Head
of Maxillofacial Department has presided the workshop and thanked the
students for active participation.
Dr Vedaprakah,
eminent Orthopedic surgeon was invited as chief guest and applauses
the doctors for adapting innovative technologies such as 3D printing
in the Maxillofacial department during surgery. In his talk,
insisted the combined research programs by students and faculty of
engineering and medical sciences.
Dr N V S Sekhar
Reddy, Sr Faculty and surgeon of Maxillofacial Surgeon’s dept
presented a talk on Medical Applications of 3D Printing and also
explained the way they are using 3D printing in dentistry during
surgery. He has demonstrated the 3D printed models to the students.
It was ignited the students to think and execute the innovations in
engineering. He has welcomed the engineering students to collaborate
with their dental college students to go future collaborations and
combined research.
Mr Indraneel
Gupta, Co-founder of Vibrant 3D Innovations Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad
insisted the importance of usage of 3D technology in the medicine. In
his address, Dr S V Ranganayakulu, Dean – R&FD has briefed
the ongoing 3D printing training programs and thanked the management
and administration of the college to be the part of the workshop.
Prof P Srinivas, Mechanical Engineering and Sr faculty members were
attended and coordinated the program.
