IEEE Women in Engineering

Guru Nanak institutions has organized International Women’s day on Friday 8th March 2019. The theme of this year is #BalanceforBetter (Better the Balance, Better the world). This day brings many things for women-a cause for celebration, a reason to pause and re-evaluate a remembrance, an inspiration and a time to honor, loved and admired.
On the occasion of women’s day Dr. M. Ramalinga Reddy Director, GNITC , Dr. S. Sreenatha Reddy, Principal, GNIT , All Associate Directors , Heads of the Department , Lady faculty and staff members and Girl students were part of the program. Event was enthusiastically hosted and successfully coordinated by Dr. K. Santhi and team. More than 450 girl students, all women faculty and staff members of GNI were participated and motivated by guest speakers.The program started with National song.


Mrs. P. Vidya Reddy, Additional Public Prosecutor who was the guest speaker of the function, spoked on awareness of “Women Safety” and also advised the girls, that they should know their rights to defend themselves from domestic violence and should know about Nirbhaya act. She cited various laws that are enacted in favour of women and asked the women to utilize and protect themselves if needed.

The second speaker Dr. Pallavi Kabde, Founder, Kerinta Organization addressed her opinion and views on “Women Empowerment” for the awareness of women. Also she advised that the women are the life giver to the human race and it is the responsibility of everyone to give her a respectable status and honour in society. She encouraged women to empower themselves without waiting for any external agency to help them. Also she motivated to change that thought process of women should change and each woman should respect other women. Then girl students were interacted with the guests and expressed their views and clarified their doubts.

Program has concluded by felicitating Chief Guests by Director, Principal, General Manager and ADs. Dr.K.Santhi, HOD/EEE, Advisor, IEEE women in Engineering welcomed the guests. The program ended with a vote of thanks and the singing of the national anthem. The session was a thorough learning experience.
